It does not
seem long ago that co-founders Karl Schakel, CEO, Wayne Harding, Vice
Chairman of the Board and Bob Terry, Director and Treasurer founded this
remarkable company. Mr. Harding may be better known to you as author of the
book, The Extra 2% That Make Sales Happen. He also earned noteworthy
recognition as Co-Founder and President of Harding Glass.
Heritage was an outgrowth
of a multimillion dollar international agri-business conglomerate called
Western Agri-Management founded and still operated by Karl Schakel who
serves as Chairman and CEO. While Western had operations in more than a
dozen countries including Egypt, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Chile,
Mexico, Paraguay, Jamaica, and Honduras, it is now designing operations in
Poland, Bulgaria and Uganda. Its team of professionals and technical
associates coordinate the complexities of this global operation. Because
there is a strong profit motive for the locals in the projects, this company
has truly been a leader in feeding the hungry of the world.
Western's influence has
touched every imaginable botanical resource, from fruits, to vegetables, to
the mysterious herbs used in the third world countries commonly thought of
as "Traditional Medicine".
Western today operates over
8,000 acres of irrigated farm land in the US, and had, in recent years, the
largest organically certified farm operation in the United States which
covers more than 1,300 acres. In addition to producing dozens of various
food source crops around the world, they developed a special variety of
Artemisia which is used to produce Artemesis, a white powder used in an
injection to prevent and cure malaria. As you can see, from nutritionals to
medicinals, they have been leading the Scientific Rediscovery of the Proven
Benefits of Natural Herbs. What does this all mean to the new Heritage
Health Products distributor?
Let us
explain.
To best understand the
philosophy of Heritage you must understand the philosophies of its
founders. At the Ninth Annual International Agriculture Forum in Geneva,
Switzerland, Mr. Schakel addressed critical issues pertaining to the real
solution to world hunger. Mr. Schakel said, "I have observed a great set of
conditions around the world for potential success of the less developed
countries in feeding themselves and others. Yet, I also observe that this
wonderful opportunity is likely to be lost - not through fault of the
citizens of these countries nor because of the failure of the agri-businessmen
who could together bring success. "The opportunity may be lost forever
because of the other critical players, the governments and the politicians
of the less developed countries and the leaders and workers of the
development agencies which either fail to recognize the problems, or choose
to ignore the obvious solutions."
The Founders bring their
philosophies and energy to the entrepreneurial world of MLM. Wayne Harding
comments, "Believe me, I know that the persons starting their own businesses
want to be successful and could, if they were working in cooperation with
private businessmen who could show them a true success model... We started
Heritage as an answer to several human challenges. First, but not
necessarily of more importance, is the need for financial security. In
addition, a commitment to providing products that fulfill universal needs
for every man, woman and child will give foundation to the Heritage
financial opportunity. We believe that the United States was founded by, and
has prospered through, individuals with faith, hope, ingenuity, and
integrity. Our mission is to create an opportunity for these virtues to
flourish, for entrepreneurs to prosper, and for Americans to claim this -
Heritage!"
